Cania Gorge Tourist Retreat

Get Aproved Finance Solutions

For my 40th birthday my wife suggested we go to Cania Gorge for the weekend.  We booked in at Cania Gorge Tourist Retreat and hoped that it would be a nice park.  We most certainly were not disappointed.  The first thing that impressed us was Gerard, the park owner.  Gerard was very pleasant and inviting, he was very friendly and had a great knowledge of the area including the bush walks and surrounding national parks.  The park was very clean and tidy and well laid out.  We stayed in the self contained cabins and found them quite comfortable and large enough four myself, my wife and our 2 teenage kids, and the airconditioning was great after a long day off road in the middle of summer.

The park offers powered and unpowered sites and cabins.  You have the choice of fully self contained cabins, ensuite rooms or budget rooms.  It has a great camp kitchen which is fully equipped and even has a TV.

The kids had a great time relaxing and floating around in the pool.  While we were relaxing around the pool with a couple of coldies we watched Gerard place food out for the chooks and the local birds which consisted of Rainbow Lorikeets, Currawongs, Crows and a few others.  As the afternoon started to cool we enjoyed a few games of chess and checkers on the giant chess board.

The park was only a short drive to Cania Dam, has a variety of different bush walks and has a number of great off road tracks leading to national parks, rainforests, world war 2 plane wrecks and much more.

Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Cania Gorge Tourist Retreat and would strongly recommend it if your planning a trip to Cania Gorge.
