Tools of the Trade

Question, what are the most exciting artificial baits that have ever been used by anglers?  If you guessed “Top Water Baits” then you are absolutely correct.  Back in the 1960s when bass fishing started to gain its popularity as being a competitive freshwater fishing sport, as well as today, the top water baits seemed to be the most sought after by most anglers.  Just the excitement alone of seeing a fish come up out of the water and attack a Top Water Bait always seem to get the blood flowing and the heart pounding.  During that period of time,  baits like...........Click Here

A guide to catch & release angling

Catch and release angling methods are an increasingly popular practice among many anglers. It is becoming very common for fishers with a strong conservation commitment to release fish that they are legally entitled to keep. In this modern era of fishing with highly evolved & technologically advanced equipment as well as the precision based species targeting tactics it is more appropriate than ever to justify catch & release methods for every angler who wishes to see fisheries survive beyond this lifetime. It is expected in the year 2011 that Australian recreational anglers will spend..........Click Here

Kinkuna National Park

We recently took the kids to Woodgate beach for the afternoon, on the way back to Bundaberg we spotted the sign to Kinkuna National Park and decided to go off road and check it out.  We were quite surprised and had a such a great time I thought I would dedicate this page to the national park.  After about an hour the rain started getting pretty heavy so we decided we would come back another weekend to see more of the ............Click Here

Easter 2009 at The Springs 4x4 Park

The weekend started with one disaster after the next.  Firstly, we arrived at The Springs to discover the jockey wheel handle on our hired camper trailer had broken off somewhere along the track.  Trying to get a camper trailer off the tow hitch with out a working jockey wheel caused a few heated discussions between myself and my wife.  Eventually, with the help of my wife and both kids we got the trailer set up. Later that afternoon we lit the BBQ that came with the camper, it started ok then suddenly it burst into flames causing a made panic.  I don't know if anyone was watching but I'm sure if there was ...............Click Here

When to Set the Hook

How many times have you made a cast, reeled in your slack line, and then all of a sudden you feel a bump, then BAM! You try to set your hook but you miss the fish?  Sound familiar? Trust me; this happens to anglers all the time.  I can’t tell you how many times this occurs, especially while observing my 3-day students and charter clients.  Most of them just can’t figure out why they keep missing fish when they’re getting the strikes.  Don’t feel bad if this sounds like you, but I was also an angler that did exactly the same thing for many years, in fact I was probably the worst at .............................Click Here

Robo fitts diff breathers to 99 Pajero Escape

Even though the Pajero has a pretty good diff breather anyway, it has a fitting welded into the diff housing with a rubber tube running from this into the rear cross member, which is pretty good but i wanted to get the breather up as high as i could in the engine bay...........................................Click Here
